Never eat anything mindlessly! I'm one month post op with a little fill from the surgery and I start eating a hard boiled egg while checking my emails at work. Start eating the 2nd one & all of a sudden I've got a elephant sitting on my chest! Holy cow! I've read many times about getting stuck, eating too fast, too much, not paying attention. BUT, try this one time & it will get your attention so fast that you don't know what to do. Pain, yes, breathing, okay, walking, sure. Then the hiccups start. Never had that before! Five minutes hiding in the bathroom at work with really loud hiccups.

So once again, no mindless eating for those of you like me that multi-task everything. :)

I'm now okay, but I think I'll pass on the eggs for awhile. Don't want the hubby calling me a woofer :) (As in woofing down my food cause I'm hungry first thing in the morning). :)

THANKS BBE, I am having my first fill Wednesday and since I haven't much restriction I haven't been chewing very well, eating small bites or paying much attention. I will now!

Now you are a real bandster!

Horrible as these episodes are they are a good reminder to slow down and pay attention. I think once it has happened once we all swear that we will take extra care so that it won't happen again but I think it's a bit like being drunk and having a hangover..............

Either that or I am just a slow learner!

I too learned something new. No driving and eating. I bought a child size burger while running errands. I ate about half not paying attention not chewing and bam chest tight pain I was driving down freeway had pull off and finally it passed It cost me time trying to save time eating at drive through I will not eat while driving if you get stuck while driving you're in a bad Place.

I think it may also be the eggs...I remember in the beginning eggs were not my friend. They just sat on my chest...awful. Yesterday (7 months later), I tried scrambled eggs again...same thing. I think that eggs will not be a friend to me again at least scrambled or in egg salad!

eggs did it to me too. It's like they just sit there and don't want to move down.

you have to learn what you can, and can't eat. So it's hit and miss for a while.

Hard boiled eggs don't set well in my chest either, so I smash one with a fork, and add some lite Salad Dressing, and have a egg salad for 1 instead... So I get around the problem of never being able to eat a Hard Boiled egg.

In the morning, I like 1 poached egg for Breakfast, and I find those go down pretty easy. Just make sure with a spoon you cut it into bite size pieces.
