Be My Valentine Challenge

Recommended Posts

Agnes checking in at 172 this morning. I am not the doing so hot this month. I started this thing at 171 and here I am one week away from the finish of the challenge up a pound. Well I have been awful with my eating this month, so it is no surprize, but the last couple of days I have been getting myself back on track so I will try my best to end the thing with at least being down a pound and not up. I hope everyone else is doing better than me. Well I will see yall at the finish line!!

I dont remember where my weight was the last time I checked in because I havent weighed since then either but today I am at 266. I think I only lost 2 or 4 lbs this month and that pisses me off!! I have discovered that I have lost 5 inches on my waist since January though so I guess I shouldnt be to mad. Oh well a fill appt on Tuesday so hopefully I will hit the sweet spot this time. Im also going to start counseling and see if that doesnt heltp me with my issues....

Well I got back in time to update the schedule but after staying up until 3AM for three nights in a row playing music and drinking Irish Whiskey I ended up taking a nap and slept all afternoon. I promise to get it updated by this weekend. The good news is that even though I drank a lot calories over the weekend I didn't snack at all so I still ended up loosing 1/2 pound for the weekend.

Be sure to join up for next months March Pre-Spring Challenge

ok I only lost 2 lbs this month. However, I have lost 5 inches on my waist and today when I went for a fill I was told my fatty liver isnt so fatty anymore!!! Oh yeah that kind of makes up for being 8 lbs off from my goall. On to a new month maybe I will do a Leprachon challenge with my self this month. LOL

Agnes here...

Last check in for this challenge. Weighing in today at 168. I didnt meet my goal of 165 but I sure did redeem myself this week and even though I didnt meet my monthly goal I still lost so I am moving in the right direction. I started out rough this month but think I have got myself on the right track now. I am soooo ready for the March challenge.

As for my personal goal, I got that FAFSA filled out for my daughters college and we have applied for tons of scholarships so I can check that one off as complete. I have somewhat gotten my snacking under control this last week also.

Larry as usual thank you so much for managing these challenges. They really do keep me motivated!

Final weigh in at 235, made my goal but just barely. It is starting to get warm so I need to clean up my bike and get ready for spring, only problem is that they are predicting snow this weekend. Come on spring!!!!

Be sure to join in on the March Pre-Spring Challenge.

Final check in at 205! I aimed a little high this month, so I'm not surprised I didn't meet my goal of 200. I still lost 10 pounds so I'm extremely, extremely happy with that!

I lost 3.5 lbs this past week, bringing my grand total for the month of 7- no fills yet, just banded on 1/26- I had hoped for more, but that's okay. I set my sights a little more realistically for March, and I get my first fill on Monday, so hopefully that will up the lbs lost!! I averaged 1.75 lbs a week, which I hope to increase next month. I've added in exercise this past week, so that will help!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
