Warm fluids works everytime for me, especially those times I can't get to the Dr. It's usually the case that you are just swollen, stay away from cold fluids. It does take s lot to cause a band to slip, I had food poisoning and threw up for literally 10 hours straight and still didn't slip.

WOW 10 hours. That's good to know. I tend to be a little paranoid about stuff. Warm fluids do help. I just wish it would heal faster!! I am so exhausted from not eating. All I want to do is sleep and I HAVE to go to work. ggggrrrr....

My dietician told me to keep meat tenderizer on hand for things like this. Apparently you can consumer a spoonful of the meat tenderizer powder and it's been known to help meat slide through. The idea repulses me, but you may want to give it a try! Let us know what happens, either way. Fingers crossed for you!

@Lapbandbarbie, first....LOVE THE NAME!!! hahahaha That is great!!! I believe the meat digested at some point. it was the digesting that was hard for the tummy. It got swollen and irritated. Finally woke up this morning without much pain at all so all seems to be good. These first couple of months sure are a learning process. Lesson number 1...don't get cocky about you can eat. Follow the protocol.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
