laddie1229 18 Posted January 29, 2012 I love the chocolate Peanut Butter whey Protein Powder from Wal-Mart, about $15 for a big canister. So yes you can have it.
DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted January 29, 2012 Yes, whey Protein is definitely good, especially if it's carb control/sugar free. There's a lot of good ones on the market. I personally drink the Unjury Protein Drinks every morning for Breakfast.< /p> 1 Miss Meow reacted to this
jaimecello 2 Posted January 29, 2012 My doctor only wants me making shakes from whey isolate powder! It took me a long time to find one I can tolerate and it's still tough. Unjury is definitely the most decent I think!
Banterwonder 63 Posted January 29, 2012 I love the Unjury chocolate and vanilla. The chicken Soup is great as well.
Maddy1 55 Posted January 29, 2012 Protein powders can be very expensive. Walmart carries Pure Protein 100 Whey in a variety of flavors (my favorite is chocolate). I add one scoop of Protein Powder with 1 cup skim milk, 1 pkg Splenda and a hand full of ice to my blender and blend until the ice seems to be crushed. Its cold, creamy and very chocolately for half the cost of the unjury protein powder. My Walmart (and I live in a small town) carries it in huge jugs for $17.99. I have also added 1/2 banana or 1/2 cup strawberries or 1 T of Peanut Butter, all of which are ways to vary the taste. AND you get 25 grms protein for the power and another 6-8 for the milk and you are over 30 for the day. My other favorite is Isopure flavored drinks in the bottles. Grape Frost is pretty good and 40 grms protein for a 20 oz. bottle. Mostly I driink 1/2 a bottle for liquid and for extra protein.
readytogoforit 172 Posted January 29, 2012 yes, I love my whey Protein powder. it is expensive I use Jay Robb. it has no carbs, no artificial sugars, 25 grams of Protein. I spoke to the people at the Vitamin Shoppe and have learned what to look for. Aspartame sweetener is used in many of the powders, they are linking it to cancer and belly fat. I really try to watch my carb intake so I definitely don't want to drink carbs! I love the taste and it works so well on mornings that I don't have time to make an egg breakfast. I think we are worth spending the money! when you think of the "junk" we used to eat - with no nutritional value, that was a lot of money!
MoreThanJustaPrettyFace 55 Posted January 29, 2012 nectar Naturals (uses Stevia as a sweetener) is also really good. Shop around online and you can find it for around 23 bucks. Syntrax sells it for over 40. 23g Protein per scoop. And they have fruit flavors, just in case you are sick of chocolate/vanilla/strawberry. Super delicious. otaknam 28 Posted January 29, 2012 I have been using the chocolate whey powder from Wal-Mart also. I put mine in hot Water and it is just like hot coco. I have also put it in my coffee and cream of wheat. 1 #MagicWithinme reacted to this
honk 780 Posted January 29, 2012 As mentioned above there are different types of Whey Protein. My doctor says whey isolate only, which is more expensive. You can read the ingrediants list to find out what KIND of Whey protein is being used. FYI pre and post surgery ask your doctor what you can and can not add to the shakes. Post surgery I was not allowed to add fruit during my full liquid stage. Blending fruit was considered mushie stage. Also check the calories/fat/carbs as some brand have higher levels than others. Pre and post surgery I could add sugar/fat free pudding powder, spices, sugar free coffee syrups. PB2 is a peanut powder that I also added. It is defatted peanut powder (sounds gross but tastes pretty good). Comes in plain and chocolate flavor.
