I'm starting back at Curves on Wednesday (hopefully my doctor clears me tomorrow at my 30-day checkup/fill), which I'll do 3 days a week. I'm going to try the Zumba class which is one night a week, which will leave me with the treadmill the other 2 days. If you don't like to exercise, check out Curves. It's resistance training, its only women, and its only 30 minutes. I have really missed it and am looking forward to going back. Plus they have a nutrition program, too, if you're interested in that.

If I can do it, ANYONE can - I hate exercise (but its a necessary evil!)!

The Curves around where I live have Zumba Curves. You do the machine for one full minute, then zumba in between the machines for one full minute. So it's a 30 minute exercise still, but just one lap around the cycle. It is a blast! And if you can't figure out the moves- just keep wiggling- you're still burning calories. Cause believe me... I have no rhythm. LOL.

The YMCA where I live also has Aqua Zumba, it's 45 minute of zumba in the Water, about chest deep, it is very good for low impact workout. And good for variety too.

I started doing Zumba a few weeks ago at Curves. But at the Curves near me they hav actual Zumba classes and you don't have to be a member, you can just pay a drop in fee. I am a horrible dancer and have no rythmn but everyone is very supportive and you can catch on and as the instructor told me who cares if you can't do every step as long as you are sweating!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
