yes, i regret it! Almost 5 years out and lost only half of goal! Following diet to a T, but constant puking, choking and Bowel obstruction is just not worth it! Have had the saline totally removed and still choking and puking daily......not gaining weight.....and i cant have it reoved due to insurance wont do it! Also, the flabbt skin is disgusting and no amt of exercise helps! Ruined my intimate life...liked my body better bedore....ugh!

i have absolutely no regrets what so ever about the band other than i wish i would have gotten it sooner. This is my personal opinion but I think if you dont like your band then its either A - your body has rejected it and it is out of your control which I would understand, or B- you are not using it in the correct way which is giving you negative results. If you have the band and you dont like it then you really should sit down and take a look at the reasons you dont like it. It doesnt do all the work for you, YOU have to work also and if you are not willing to do the work that is required to make it successful then that is NOT the bands fault it is simply yours. sorry to sound so stearn but it is the truth. if you have the band and you dont like it, I would suggest you get a book about it, "BANDWAGON" by jean mcmillen is an excellent book written by a long term bandster that doesnt sugar coat anything. her book has been the best motivation for me and the best informational thing I have read about living successfully with the band. good luck to you and your journey

I follow the diet to a T, as it is habit now.......its nothing i am doing wrong......and my Dr agrees.....my body just rejects the foreign object! I follow a strict 1200 calorie a day diet with no red meat, no sugars or white flours, no carbs.....and now have to live with the constant reflux, vomiting, and sliming...which by the way, can cause esophagal cancer! and i have no Fluid in my band.....not gaining, but no loss either......sorry, but it isnt for everybody.....

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
