journey4me 23 Posted January 27, 2012 My intake was about the same and it lasted 1 week. I had no desire to eat and nothing smelled good to me. up until yesterday I was still on clear liquid my stomach needs to heal and did not like when I tried mushy food so i backed off i am going to try again tomorrow. Peppermint tea is wonderful stuff! Settles my stomach, my stomach still feels bloated from the gas they put i during surgery. Can't wait to get back to the gym and when my stomach doent feel like I was in the ring with a heavy weight fighter! It will get better. Take your time. Protein can be ard on your stomach. Monique Salmond 10 Posted January 27, 2012 Im 9 days post op and getting used to bending. I have been to the gym many times and walking REALLY helps. Gets the blood flowing helping you heal faster and moving gets the gas out too! Mine was so bad it hurt to breathe. MY Dr had my diet changing by the week. Clear Liquids week one, week two thicker liquids, week 3 mushy stuff... The steri strips I took them off day 4. I had wore a black linty shirt and it made the strips look dirty so I took them off during a shower and put anti itch/bacterial ointment on it. My port hole is still itchy and kinda tender. Just remember all the struggle is worth the fight.
shues138 35 Posted January 27, 2012 With any surgery, your body is going through a major trauma, so your body will adjust. After any surgery I've had, I lose any and all appetite as well. Make sure to drink plenty of Water though, because the last thing you want to be is constipated! It happend to me after my lap-band surgery it was no fun! Best of luck on your new journey!!!! Also in regards to the steri strips itching, don't scratch just kind of tap them, it helps somewhat.
mags2u 57 Posted January 28, 2012 I find at work during the day my port side feels like it pulls. Other than that its good. I was on clears with Protein Shakes week one. It gets better at about day 6-7. Hang in there!
JustDoIt130 369 Posted January 28, 2012 I was banded yesterday, clear liquids, broth and Jello are great. I'm sore in my port incision, but doing well . My Dr uses glue for the incisions, so no itchy steri strips. Just give it time! Surgery is not easy.
Annfargo 5 Posted January 28, 2012 Everyones journey is different so what you are experiencing is normal for you. I'm 2 months out and remember the first couple of days post op they were miserable for me. I was told it gets better and that is so true. The best of luck to you. Miss Meow 12 Posted January 28, 2012 I just had surgery yesterday and I'm sore but it's my shoulder that's really bugging me. Dr said should only last a few days after surgery. Let's hope that's the case.
