Recommended Posts

I check the new posts twice a day and lately it seems that there have been 5-7 pages of postings each time I do the checks. That is A LOT to go through and keep up with. I try and sift through the postings but I never feel like I can keep up. I feel bad that I don't get to welcome everyone, I want to keep up on news, I just can't keep up with the postings. It is driving me crazy!:)

I don't even try to keep up. If I see an interesting thread I'll post, its all I can do.

Don't let it drive you nuts Jenna, just do the best you can.

YES! I hate it! We used to be able to welcome each new person. Listen to their questions, their stories, but I can't even keep up with the new posts, let alone the one's I've already missed.

It's growth! It's crazy! It's maddening! So many new people arriving each day. Woot! You know it's because we are all so wonderful.. word is spreading that LBT is -the- place to be if you want a wide variety of topics and fun people. We rock!

I agree!! Not sure how to fix this unless you stick right by the computer 24/7 to get all the new posts. HA!! I bet there really are people out there who do this!! Anyone what to admit?!?!?

I feel exactly the same Jenna, and it all the harder because I have some of my own issues to work out... like school work and other things that keep me away...

I too feel bad that I don't get to welcome everyone to Bandlandia and to the Banded Gentry.

*stands up* Hello, my name is Susan and I'm an LBT addict.

LOL dork. just kidding. me too.

When I go back to work it is going to take me another 4 hours to devour all the posts here and on the other 2 boards I belong to. LOL DH will never see me. He said one surefire way for me to lose weight...attach the laptop to the stationary bike. LOL

yes it seems within the last couple of months we've had a huge growth spurt and many more postings than I can keep up with - I see so many new people and a lot of the older ones are going MIA..........

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
