Not Hungry

Recommended Posts

I am almost one month out and I am not hungry at all. Because I am not hungry I do not know when to stop eating because I don't feel full. I try to eat 3 oz. food at a meal but it takes so long (I wait about two minutes between bites). I also get a little heartburn sometimes after drinking or eating. Has this happened to anyone else? As always, your comments are very helpful. Thanks.

You should eat whatever you can in 20 minutes and then stop...this is a good time to lose weight easily. I had this for about five weeks and when my appetite came back I had to really struggle not to gain during the bandster hell phase...this is a good thing...you wont starve (I am assuming you are obese). Just get in all your Fluid, as much Protein as possible (half of your ideal weight in grams so if you should weigh 140 you need 70 grams per day) and take a chewable vitamin! This is a good thing...use it!

You are blessed. There are some people who are starving two days after surgery. Take it and run with it. I am one month out too and i don't get hungry much either. I did have a fill on tuesday. I feel no restriction but at the same time i am not starving one hour after eating a meal. I start to feel hunger 6 plus hours after a meal. The key is to eat stiff Proteins to keep your satiety. I haven't had heartburn. Maybe speak to your doc about that.

I understand, I am almost 3 years out and I am seldom hungry. Thurs., I didn't eat all day. Yes, this is very bad; but sometimes I get involved during the day, don't think about food and then it 7 oclock and my husband is pissed! Today I just said I had eaten when he asked because I didn't want to hear it. I am also stuck at this weight because of it. Before surgery I was a mindless eater/grazer, as well as stress and emotions. I learned to work that out but I just don't get hungry, especially if I have the fulids like I should. But a big deal for me is to not do the coffee, that really takes away all thoughts of food. Good Luck.

I'm right there with ya. It has been one year, and most times, especially if I am occupied with other things, I never think of food.

A few weeks ago, my wife and I went into the city to see a play. Had my shake for Breakfast. Then we were at the rain station at 10:30. Got into the city around 1pm. Play started at 2 pm. Finished at 5 pm. It was dark, cold, windy. So we walked back to the train station, got on the train and made it back to our home destination around 8pm.

In all this time I have not eaten one single thing. Had a few drinks, but that's it.

Unfortunately, my wife has not been banded and I was suddenly aware she was the one sufering. So we stopped for something to eat.

I could have gone on home at that point.

Now head hunger, and social gatherings, that is entirely a different subject!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
