jaimecello 2 Posted January 26, 2012 Hi everyone! I'm 14 days post surgery and I am getting a strange sensation UNDER my port area. When I go from a sitting to standing position, I feel like it is snagging on something. Hoping I didn't tear a stitch? I'm an orchestra director and do a lot of arm waving. Anyone else experience this?
smatyas 0 Posted January 26, 2012 You should contact your surgeon to see what he suggests. If you did tear a suture out where it is anchored to your abdominal wall, it is easily remedied under local anethesia. What you don't want is for your port to 'float' around eventually by unanchoring itself, as it may flip, or just be a neusance when trying to get adjusted. thinspiration 7 Posted January 27, 2012 I have the same pain as well sometimes. It just strikes out of the clear blue sky. I was worried about it too. My PA said that port is probing the muscle that its resting on. She said keeping good posture is good for preventing the probing otherwise it's normal. mags2u 57 Posted January 27, 2012 I actually wore an abdominal binder at work today because I felt like it was "pulling". I joked that it was because my fat belly is hanging lower since I am losing weight and pulling those muscles down. It actually felt better to have the support. formykids2 4 Posted February 7, 2012 I had that type of pain for a while after surgery. I believe it is simply caused by the swelling from surgery and the way our bodies heal. How are you feeling now??
