Yolanda Swing-banks 1 Posted January 26, 2012 I don't have a date yet for my surgery, but I am supposed to get it in March. I wanted to know on average how long is the liquid diet supposed to last? I wanted to know if anyone has began the liquid diet and if so how much weight have you lost so far?

DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted January 26, 2012 I'm still on it right now, my surgery was Jan. 6. Between the pre-surgical diet and the post-surgical liquid diet, I've lost over 35 pounds so far. ...I FINALLY get to start some real food next Friday. I'm so excited! Greekie17 22 Posted January 26, 2012 I started the pre-op diet of 2 Protein Shakes and one small meal of Protein and green veggies yester. I'll be on it for 2 weeks. Post-op it's 2 weeks of full liquids which include items like sugar-free pudding, strained creamy broths, yogurt etc. I can't remember if grits and oatmeal are in this stage....but I think so. simsuss 1 Posted January 27, 2012 I was on shakes for two weeks. 3 a day. I like the EAS chocolate carb control ready to drink Protein Shakes. It seems like a long time but when you go onto food it tastes so good.
CallMeStacy 7 Posted January 29, 2012 I have tried several different shakes and the one that I like best is Premier Protien Shakes. They are ready to drink and the vanilla is yummy. The pre diet kinda sucks and just know that you will go thru carb and caff withdrawls (makes you grumpy and gives you a headache) But it will pass, just don't forget to drink lots of Water. My new slogen is "Just go with it". The less you fight it, the easier it will be =0) Good luck to you.
