Wow - I'm speechless. So many points of view and I can see the validity in each one. I have not been offended by anyones comments. That's what I asked for. This is how it all panned out...

After speaking to them on Friday night we let them know they needed to leave the next day (Sat). They were very appologetic and sincerely sorry for putting us in this situation. I also told the wife that if she needed anything for herself or the baby to call me or if she and/or the baby needed a place to stay - we are here for them. I felt that was very fair, I did not feel right kicking her or the baby out with no place to go. She promised she would call if she needed anything.

The next morning (Sat), I got a call from my sister in Texas that he is moving there to live with my niece. I can only pray that he gets his life together now and doesn't bring it to her house. They'll keep a close eye out, I'm sure.

They left last night at about 11:00 pm and I can't tell you how sad I am to see them go. I watched Maya be born and have been a daily part of her life for her 5 months alive. I will miss her terribly and will worry about her daily. Vanessa's a good mom to her, so I am not worried about her safety and my sister is close by and will make sure she's taken care of. (My sister works for CPS)

I really wanted our home to be the place where he got his act together and started being a man. Maybe with our tough love he can begin to see the consequences of his actions.

Yesterday I was sad all day - today I've been cleaning out their rooms. It's a fresh start for all of us.

Thanks so much to all who commented. I appreciate the support and to those that have gone through similar situations - I am deeply sorry.

One thing is certain - DRUGS DESTROY FAMILIES! Even recreational/social drug use can lead to heavier use and more severe drugs.

Lots of love,

I am so glad that the lines of communication are still open. Hopefully this will be the little wake up call he needs to realize how serious this sort of thing can be. My prayers are with him and his buddi g family, and with you on your new fresh start.

So what are ya going to do with the room? a workout room maybe?

Ya, communication is definitely still open. We hugged, we cried and said our good-byes.

I have my workout room in my formal dining room: treadmill, bowflex, one of those big balls you work on with free weights and a hula hoop!

One of the rooms is our guest room and the other we are turning into my new office - I hope to start a business this summer because the school where I've been teaching is closing - I've worked there for 11 years! Scary stuff!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
