What Size Band And How Much Fluid?

Recommended Posts

I just got a fill today, I haven't had one since September last year! I now have 7cc in a 10cc band...I came home and drank a cup of coffee and I feel so full. I haven't had anything today except a Protein shake!! Did anyone else experience this? Maybe just maybe I can be in the green zone this time! What's your size and how Fluid did it take you to get to the green zone????? :))

I also have a 10cc band and I had my first green zone at 6cc. Then I lost a bit of weight and felt like it was just staying exactly the same, no gain and no loss for weeks and even months. I got a fill to 7.7 and lost quite a bit more weight and then of course it leveled off again. At that point I was 155 pounds and 145 would be normal BMI for me. I went and got 0.3cc (total now 8cc) and lost 15 pounds in a couple of months...I have since leveled off at 140 and I am just thrilled.

I have a size 10 band too and I am filled somewhere between 6.5 and 6.8. The PA said I have 6.5 but when I add up all my adjustments I show 6.8. I haven't had a fill since September also and don't feel like I am in the green zone either. I am still hungry within 2 to 2.5 hours of eating. I sure am hoping she will give me one when I go in next month! I hope this will be your sweet spot too!

I have a 10cc band with 5cc's at the moment. I have only had one fill. I saw my dr last week and she didnt feel I need another fill because i was doing well. I was fine with that. I dont get hungry in between meals and I cant eat a lot of food. Im pretty happy at the moment

I had some Soup earlier and I can tell the restriction has totally gotten better since my fill! I ate a little of it and feel full/satisfied! It's wonderful I hope it last though and it's not just because I'm swollen from the fill! Fingers crossed! I was the same way! Hungry all the time so I would just eat what I had in the house that would go down easy and keep me satisfied at the moment then 2 hrs later I was hungry again!!! What helps me is I set my phone alarm for every 2.5 hrs to make me eat something with Protein in it and I felt fine doing that and wasn't just hungry all the time!!!! Good luck ladies and I hope that you can get a fill so you can have a good restriction soon!!!!!!

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
