pre-op induction drink? Do you mean the Protein shakes? I like the powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury Protein, and truth be told, I'm really drinking a lot of carnation instant Breakfast.

The other big huge thing of whey protein I bought from Wal- Mart (I think it's six star or something, black and red) I really don't like.

It's all a taste to you thing- the thing I liked about Unjury is they have a sample packet that is pretty inexpensive, and it has 2 chocolate, 2 vanilla, 2 strawberry, 2 chicken broth and 2 unflavored- to try. And I think they're one of the only places that have unflavored, so you can add it to something.

Hope this helps and it's what you meant, LOL. I'm on the pre-op diet right now- surgery on Thursday- already lost 8 lbs!

I like the Protein Shakes from costco, they have 30g of Protein per shake and cost about $25 for 18 shakes

Right on! Premier Protein...tastes great and 30 grams is a lot for only 160calories...I have been banded 2.5 years, and I drink one every morning!

Hey Murfbe,

I am going to try the unjury 'unflavored' powder that you can add to pretty much any of the foods to help get in that Protein. As everyone has stated, it really is going to be according to what YOU like. I am doing the Bariatric Advantage banana flavored Meal Replacement shakes. I like to add some fruit to this and to me it taste great! However, I am getting really tired of the shakes and need something more 'clear'.

I am just testing everything before surgery so I know what to buy before hand and I want to be prepared and ready.

Here is the link to try Unjury, I beleive you can buy the single packets to sample..

I like the chocolate "Unjury" shake. I tried a couple different ones from GNC and thought they were way over priced and couldn't tolerate them much to be honest.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
