chyna86 17 Posted January 23, 2012 Just started looking into the whole WLS arena and have been looking at the lapband as an option worth persuing. I did find out last year that I have growth on my thyroid (goiter). I've been poked, prodded, rammed and jammed by two different endos and all of my tests have come back normal. My thyroid is functioning just fine, just a growth i guess. Wondering if this will be a no go for any WLS. Has anyone out there have the surgery with thyroid problems? Talk to your doctor. You'll be fine.
Yellowsisi 1 Posted January 23, 2012 Hey there Chyna, I have a multi noduler goitre on my right side and just like you all of my tests have been normal. I had lap band surgery on December 16th 2011 ( a month ago just) and so far I am fine and waiting for my first fill. So, so far so good I assume. Laters x. Cocoabean 430 Posted January 24, 2012 I had a growth on my thyroid for years. It finally started overproducing hormone and I had to have it treated. It was all before I was banded. As long as you are being followed by a doctor and your levels are normal, I don't think there'd be a problem.
