sleepyjean 0 Posted February 17, 2006 Is there such a thing as a scale that weighs accurately on carpet (as opposed to a hard floor)? It seems like there are a lot of scales that say they do, but do they *really*? Is it as accurate as on a hard floor? The only hard floors in my apartment are my kitchen and bathroom, and both are tiny.
paula 4 Posted February 17, 2006 Try getting a piece of plywood cut big enough (2x2?) so you can slide it under your bed or sofa ~ put your scale on that and see if it weighs accuratly. just a thought!
BarbaraC 0 Posted February 17, 2006 Move you scale around the house and see if there is a difference. My scale weighs me 5# less on carpet. At one weight loss center, years ago they put a piece of wood between the scale and carpet and stated that it weigh correctly. Barbara

Jachut 487 Posted February 17, 2006 Technically as long as you weigh yourself in the same spot it doesnt matter anyway. But I actually line the scales up with particular bathroom tiles, step on in exactly the same way and rest slightly towards my heels when I weigh, lol. That way I get the lowest possible weight - stark naked after a wee first thing in the morning. Never with wet hair!
