I love, love, LOVE my Fitbit! You can now integrate it with myfitness pal which work pretty good. The Fitbit tracks so many things plus you can also journal on their website(I keep mine private). I highly recommend it. I was having some problems with it not tracking the floors climbed properly and when I emailed their customer service they responded promptly and after a bit of trouble shooting (that didn't fix the problem), the sent me a new one at no charge! I didn't even have to ask for it, or pay shipping!! Fantastic and prompt customer support is really a big deal to me and they far exceeded my expectation in that category. I love how it counts my steps, floors climbed and calories burned. It also monitors sleep which is pretty cool. Let me know if you have any questions. Good luck finding something that works for you!!

if you want a HRM, I would recommend a Garmin. I found a bundle a few months ago with a HRM strap, a footpod, and an exercise watch for $99 on Amazon. It was only an older model (the watch face is the only difference between the new model vs old).

if you want something that tracks calories, food, sleep, etc, the Fitbit is awesome! I love my fitbit, bur decided I needed an exercise watch too.

Thank you! another good review for fitbit. I guess I shouldnt have labled this hrm considering I am looking for more like the fitbit or bodymedia band. I like the fit bit cause its smaller! Cant wait to pick one up :)

yes, I have had both the bodybugg (which is the Bodymedia, but sold by 24 hr fitness) and the fitbit. Hands down, the fitbit does everything the bodybugg does, except it's much cheaper, there are no subscription fees, and it can be easily hidden.

Also, the bodybugg seemed to over report my calorie burn by about 400 calories a day...

I have a cheapo £20 PC11 HRM from Amazon, and its brilliant, had it about a yr and only changed the battery once. It's very good.

I was going to wear it to work too just to see how any cals I burn running around the place haha

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
