poor LuLu thank goodness she did find you .....she is better off in doggie Heaven than suffering here on earth.....animals are the best....I know how hard it is to put an animal down, been there and done that to my cat I had all of my life.......its aweful feeling, but at the same time you know in your heart you did the right thing.

I'm glad to hear Rocky is over his time mourning. Most do move on, but they never forget. I had a hard time reading that post aloud to my husband.

leener ~ Poor Sam....I'm sure he missed his best bud. :cry Hey, thanks for the reminder about Rescue Remedy. I haven't used that for a long time and it would come in handy about now.

I'm literally in tears reading this thread. I absolutely LOVE animals and wish that we had a big enough place to have more. Bless you for taking them in and providing them with a warm and loving home. I'm so sorry to hear about LuLu.

We have 3 cats, two (Smokey & Patches) that were adopted from shelters, and one (Simba) that we found (declawed) while walking the lake front of Lake Pontchartrain. We recently took in a stray (Morris) that we have been feeding for a year. He is a tomcat and kept getting into fights. The last fight tore him up so badly that one of his claws was ripped completely out! We decided to take him to the vet, get all of his shots, neutered, etc. and bring him in to stay. He's been in the house for 3 weeks and is adjusting quite well. He's had a few accidents, but that's to be expected. He has been an outside cat for so long. I'm attaching photos of all of them. I love them all so very much.

Animals think their humans, I don't think they realize their different from us. We wanted to get a 2nd cat and we brought one home from a shelter. The cat only stayed one night (turned out he had an infection and was dying from it. We had to take him back to the shelter) but the next day when the cat was gone, Mia (my first one) went around the house looking for him and meowing... after only 1 day.

We now have gotten a 2nd cat from a shelter but shes a kitten and very playful. Mia acts like the kitten is just an annoyance, but every time the kitten meows for something Mia comes running over looking all concerned! It's very cute. Mia is the orange cat and Annie is the kitten. (but hubby calls her mini kitty. I don't think she knows her name is Annie yet!)

I am loving all the pictures and animal stories.

People that say animals have no souls I look at like they are from another planet, because those of us who have experienced the unconditional love of an animal, or observe the wild things know they are great teachers of the basic tenants of loyalty, forgiveness, love. Something we as humans have yet to get right.

The Peace of Wild Things

When despair for the world grows in me

and I wake in the night at the least sound

in fear of what my life and my children's lives may be,

I go and lie down where the wood drake

rests in his beauty on the Water, and the great heron feeds.

I come into the peace of wild things

who do not tax their lives with forethought

of grief. I come into the presence of still Water.< /p>

And I feel above me the day-blind stars

waiting with their light. For a time

I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.

Awwwww poor Rocky....I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother and LuLu. As someone else stated you were a blessing to LuLu in his/her last days.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
