sjsanto 0 Posted January 20, 2012 Okay, so I realize that this is going to sound rather stupid, but I need some help. I have always been an overweight adult. But, I also avoided the scale at all cost. Never really weighed myself at home. I also have been lucky to not be sick much. If / when I do get sick, I usually ended up at the clinics inside the grocery stores, urgent care clinics or the like, 1) because I had a high deductible plan, and they were usually cheaper, and 2) they were available when I was, rather than trying to wait for an appt with my internist. When I went to those clinics, they asked how much I weighed, and I totally guessed. My problem is this. I just went to the seminar for the lap band procedure here in town and I'm trying to fill out the initial paperwork. They want to know how much I weighed at the beginning of high school, the end of high school, etc. I have no ever loving clue! I know what size I wore, because I couldn't shop with my friends ( I was a 16/18 at the end of high school and over the last 13 years have progressed up to a 26/28). I asked the office about my issues and they said i need to estimate for the insurance company. I am SOOOO bad at that. Any ideas what an "average" weight is for sizes 18 and 22 (in college)? I'm 298 right now and am a 26.....

Jenn31MA 149 Posted January 20, 2012 Unfortunatly everyone is shaped differently. As for me I am 5'7 and at the end of high school i was a size 14/16 and 200lbs. Right now i am 5'7 and a size 20 at 268lbs. How tall are you?? Also if you went to college you would have most likely had to have a physical before hand and should be able to get your records from a pediatrician maybe??? So for me thats almost 70 lbs for 2 or 3 sizes.
sjsanto 0 Posted January 20, 2012 I figured this was a shot in the dark. I had sports physicals in high school, and am still trying to locate the files, but I think my mom has them still in a file drawer some where, and I was not planning on telling any of the family until I was ready, approved and scheduled so that I can prepare myself for the "this is the cheater's way to do it" arguments.... I need to call my regular doc and see what she has on file from "back in the day" but the WLS doctor's office said to estimate now and wait to make a physical appt with my regular doc until after we hear what the insurance company actually needs... I'm just a tad under 5'6 just for reference :-)
NWgirl 574 Posted January 20, 2012 Have you seen a gynecoligist or other medical professional that would have taken weight down? I know I have five years of weight history from just my gynecologist, but was able to also get my pediatric growth chart showing when I went off the chart in terms of weight gain in relation to height... running_scared 125 Posted January 20, 2012 I'm 5 foot 4, and at the end of high school, I wore a size 18-20, and I weighed 230ish pounds. When I broke my nose in Grade 9, I was a size 14-16, and I weighed 200 pounds. Hope that helps a bit.
xavier 153 Posted January 20, 2012 Well I am 5'4" and at 220 I was an 18...so I would guess about 15 pounds per inch of height so an 18 for you maybe 235...you dont have to be exact...
