I was banded on august 12, 2011.. Before I got my band I was doing all kinds of research, as other people do, and I had read that sometimes the lapband procedure could cure PCOS! I got so excited, as I cant have children because of my PCOS, then I was reading an article that other countries are trying to get the Lapband procedure cleared as a fertility treatment! I think that this would be so awesome. I have also talked to some people on here who have lost a lot of weight from the lapband procedure then BAM, pregnant. Has anyone had luck with it yet?

I was banded on 4/12/12, and I've lost 24 pounds since I started the process in February. I hope you're right! :D One of the girls in the surgeon's office did say that quite a few have gotten pregnant after losing some weight from the surgery. My husband and I have been trying for four years. As far as fertility treatments, they want me to go straight to injections. My insulin tested fine, so I didn't qualify for Metformin. I wanted to lose some weight before doing the injections. Besides PCOS, I have high cholesterol, diagnosed with sleep apnea in 07, and my doctor has been wanting to start me on high blood pressure meds. I too would love to hear about pregnancy success after surgery!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
