Before I got my band I was doing all kinds of research, as other people do, and I had read that sometimes the lapband procedure could cure PCOS! I got so excited, as I cant have children because of my PCOS, then I was reading an article that other countries are trying to get the Lapband procedure cleared as a fertility treatment! I think that this would be so awesome. I have also talked to some people on here who have lost a lot of weight from the lapband procedure then BAM, pregnant. Has anyone had luck with it yet? The~New~Me 17 Posted May 20, 2012 I was banded on 4/12/12, and I've lost 24 pounds since I started the process in February. I hope you're right! One of the girls in the surgeon's office did say that quite a few have gotten pregnant after losing some weight from the surgery. My husband and I have been trying for four years. As far as fertility treatments, they want me to go straight to injections. My insulin tested fine, so I didn't qualify for Metformin. I wanted to lose some weight before doing the injections. Besides PCOS, I have high cholesterol, diagnosed with sleep apnea in 07, and my doctor has been wanting to start me on high blood pressure meds.
