legnarevocrednu 47 Posted January 19, 2012 I had my first fill of 4 CC's on January 3rd. I felt restriction for about 2 weeks (the most during last week...I threw up 3 times). However, this week, I have felt nothing. Last night, I was able to eat a whole 6 ounce steak! I chewed everything extremely well and took my time but still, it's the first time since surgery that I've been able to make it through a whole meal. I am a little upset. It was my first time having steak. I wanted to see if I was able to eat it, and surprisingly, it went down very well. I am not happy about this! Is this normal? Thanks for your input! Tams45 2 Posted January 19, 2012 Why would you not be happy about that, If you didn't want the steak why eat it??? I myself haven't had any issues with food, i can eat everything and have never thrown up once. About 2 weeks after a fill all your swelling has gone down in your belly so you can eat....Usually the first fill doesn't put you in the "zone" so schedule another one, for my first fill I got 4.2cc of Fluid and it did nothing, the second i got another 2.4 cc total 6.8 in a 10cc band and I feel great restriction. Call your Dr's office and schedule another one and hopefully that will make you feel better, GL!!!
legnarevocrednu 47 Posted January 19, 2012 I wanted the steak, but I also wanted the restriction. Previously, I would only be able to eat half a meal or so. Last night I was able to eat the whole thing and I was shocked. My next fill is scheduled for February 7th. We'll see how I am at that point. Thanks!! B-52 7,113 Posted January 19, 2012 Restriction can be fleeting, especially the first fill or 2. I didn't have any after first fill. Second fill was similar to what your experiencing now - came and went. Only after 3rd fill was it consistent. Now, at a year, it still comes and goes, but I'm getting to the point where I can predict it, and even control it and get it back if lost. (don't ask, least not now)
sam3841 57 Posted January 19, 2012 The restriction you felt was probably due to swelling at the lapand localtion due to the fill. This is going to sound very encouraging, but you need to wait till you another fill or two and then you feel restriction. You don't get proper lasting restriction till you are in the green zone. That's when you will start to lose the most weight. Good luck
