Those Who Have Lost 100+

Those of you who have lost 100+ pounds...what was your starting weight, your daily regimen, and how long did it take you?

I started at 264#. I lost 100 pounds in the first year. Getting to my green zone/sweet spot early in the process was key for me. I have never had a daily regimen really. I just followed the very basics of the lapband rules....... take very tiny bites, chew well, no fried foods, try to get in Protein......

From day one I have not counted, measured, tracked, or journaled anything.

When the band is adjusted properly, there is no need to spend my time obcessing over every calorie and gram.

I lost 100 pounds in six months. I started at 304 and am now 169 at 10 months. I just followed the rules but I do eat 6 times a day. My body likes it and it keeps me going. I feel it when my Protein level is down and I need to eat. I work out 5 times a week for an hour and drink lots of Water.< /p>

Wow Brenda that is truly an inspiration. I started at 286 pounds and i'm currently at 253 in 6 weeks!

I started out at 248 in Oct 2009. I weighed 144 at the docs office on Monday. It took me a yr to lose the first 75 lbs and over the last yr or so, I lost a little over 25. So 2 yrs. I know I was slow. I still want to lose about 9 more lbs. The nurse said I wouldn't be able to hold myself up with my tiny legs if I lose 9 more lbs! That felt good!

You can do it! The first 5 mths I didn't lose much - then when I got my 3rd fill, it finally kicked in! I started losing pretty quickly. I eat whatever I want (including brea, rice, and pasta) just in really small quantities. I do throw up about once a week now - my own fault, from eating too fast or too much. I used to throw up almost everyday, so that's getting better.

I'm 5ft 10, got banded at 38. Starting weight 245, finishing weight about 140 give or take. It took me a year to lose about 70lb, another year to lose about 20 and another 2 years to lose the rest! I gave up dieting when I got banded, counted nothing, focussed on nothing, cut out nothing. I just ate what I wanted. Exercise wise running, bootcamp, spinning and Body Pump are my faves, I ran mostly in the early days - up to 10kms a day.

I started at 284.5 and am down 100.1 pounds in 30 weeks...I just work out a lot and eat smaller portions. I do not deprive myself of any food...in fact, I had a brownie today. I just knew I had to watch my calories at dinner! I have not updated my ticker because I do that on Saturdays (corny I know), but I was away for the weekend, so I have to wait until this Saturday!

I have lost 100 pounds. I was banded in June of 2009. I started at 347 lbs and am at 247 lbs now. My weight loss has been slow, because during the 2 1/2 years, I have had multiple surgeries on my knees and back, and have not been able to exercise. I also did not get fills at times when we decided it was better to concentrate on surgery recovery and getting the nutrition I needed to heal well. My last ( and hopefully final) surgery is at the end of this month. So in March I'm hoping to augment my rehab exercises with more physical activity in general. My doctors are all pleased with my rate of loss, and I am too. My point is that even if the weight doesn't come off quickly, staying as healthy as possible is important, too. One reason I was banded was so I could have successful surgery on my knees, and I have absolutely no regrets about the path I've been on. Good luck to you - you're off to a great start!!

See, you will find we all do it a little different. You just have to find "your way" and stick with it if it's working. kudos to all who exercise like crazy! One day I'll start ......blink.pngBanane43.gif

I am not quite to 100, 91 lbs lost since April 2011. I ave 10lbs a month. The main thing for me is food! I eat a lot.of chicken, avacados, & cottage cheese. I'm not so great with working out, I go 2 a week is all. For me accountability is.key. I meet once a month with a healthy lifestyle coach & check my bmi, fat mass, muscle mass ect. As well.as tracking my food.& I see a theraist. I am hoping to hit 100 lbs lost next month. I started @284 & I am currently 193!

I started at 325 lbs and hit 100 lbs lost in about 7 months. I am now 13 months post surgery and have lost 136 lbs. I aim for 80-120g Protein each day and less than 50g carbs. I also exercise about 5 hours a week (both cardio and strength training) - although I didn't start seriously exercising until I had lost about 80 lbs. At this point in my journey, I am about 14 lbs away from my goal and my weight loss has slowed tremendously but I am still pushing towards the finish line!!

I was banded 4/28/11

I lost 100 in the 1st 7 mos

Dec I gained a few

That is off as of today

I eat a lot of chopped fresh vegs and canned tuna/chicken

Dannon light

Water

I started @ 1100 cals a day for the first 60 lbs

I around 1500 for the last 2 mos (not counting holidays)

I lost 30 lbs in the month before my surgery doing Atkins, then it took me 1 year to go from 264 on my surgery date (september 2010) to 164 in september 2011).

I lost by following the rules for the most part. High Protein and skipped most carbs for the first 6 months or so, then, although I slowly reintroduced more regular carbs in, still kept my portions tiny (i.e. when I have Pasta, I have it in a tiny Fiesta fruit bowl). I did not exercise regularly for the first year. Now I'm stuck at the last 15 lbs, so I have to exercise now to get me over this long plateau.

      Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.
