skinnygrrlatheart 2 Posted January 17, 2012 I was banded October 27. To date I've lost 10 lbs, which was preop. I have 4cc in a 14cc band and have no restriction. Seriously hoped to be further along by this point. Feeling very down about all of it.
Kristen1969 17 Posted January 17, 2012 What are you eating? Are you exercising?
skinnygrrlatheart 2 Posted January 17, 2012 Kristen- I have a Protein Shake every morning for Breakfast. lunch is spinach salad with 1/2 grilled chicken breast, sprinkle of feta cheese, balsamic vinegar. dinner is grilled veggies or 1/2 grilled chicken breast with another salad. Have totally changed the way I eat since I was banded. I exercise 4 days a week doing crossfit.
Kristen1969 17 Posted January 17, 2012 I was afraid you were going to say that! Ugh...that is my fear! Are you losing inches?
PudgyYogaChic 6 Posted January 17, 2012 Calories, in calories out. Even if you aren't feeling restriction, you should be losing weight with what you are eating and how much you are exercising.
skinnygrrlatheart 2 Posted January 17, 2012 Kristen- I have lost inches, all over and clothes are fitting differently but I'm tying a lot up to that number on the scale. Pudgey- I wish that were true.
dar36 5 Posted January 17, 2012 There were weeks I wouldn't lost any weight and weeks I would lose a couple of pounds. On average I lost 1 pound per week. It never hurts to talk to your doctor and dietician. You mention you are exercising a lot and your clothes are fitting differently. Perhaps you are gaining muscle. 10 pounds since october is a healthy pace. I lost slowly too and am down about 60 pounds in a year and a half. Hang in there and keep plugging away. You WILL see results.
xavier 153 Posted January 17, 2012 It is calories in and calories out and since you are eating ok eventually you will lose....BUT...thats not why any of us got the band! Get a fill and get another fill! Once you have the right level of restriction this is actually pretty easy! And yes I am a nearly two decades obese (formerly) failed dieter! I am at perfect restriction but I have 8cc in a 10cc band! It took a long time to get here and was sometimes a miserable struggle! I eat 1/2 to 3/4 cup of any food and I am totally full and if I eat more I am in trouble! I can eat any food and I dont ever eat any low cal low fat or diet anything! I wear a size 6. Hang in there and dont beat yourself up until you are filled to green zone restriction!
skinnygrrlatheart 2 Posted January 17, 2012 Xavier- very inspirational. Thank you. I'm due for my next fill February 1. I know I'll make it, just frustrated. So glad I vocalized that here.

ELMO4635 1 Posted January 18, 2012 I can relate! I was banded Oct 21st, lost 12 pounds the first month, only 1 pound during December! I have the xl band (14cc) and currently have 51cc in the band. I am eating Protein shakes for Breakfast and lunch, and not eating that well at dinner...since I can eat pretty much anything. Guess I need to find the willpower to get back on track, and start exercising !
Kate rules 43 Posted January 19, 2012 I lost only 7 pounds between the day I was banded (July 5) and December. Wasn't anything I ate or lack of exercise. My body plateaued at 171 pounds and stayed there for months because my body needed to adjust to the 27 pounds I lost before the surgery. One I got past the plateau, I dropped 10 pounds in a month and a half. And I'm still losing. Believe me, during that 5 month period, I was starting to wonder why I went through all this. But now, I know! 20 pounds to go!
honk 780 Posted January 19, 2012 Losing 1 lb a week is not abnormal. I eat very conservatively and exercise 1 hour 7 days per week and am a slow loser.
