JewelsMommy 4 Posted January 17, 2012 The surgeon told me that I don't look like what I weigh. Guess that can be a good and bad thing cuz looks can definitely be deceiving. Either way...he explained the whole process...then I scheduled my first nutritionist appointment. Next up sleep study! I have never had an issue with my sleep...so I'm not sure what the results will be. Just hoping that this will aid in my insurance approval... *keeping fingers crossed* 1 Caribear reacted to this
Caribear 184 Posted January 17, 2012 I think they want to make sure you don't have sleep apnea, because it could possibly cause an issue if they don't know about it. I think most doctors require this, and some insurance companies do too. If it comes back positive (that you have apnea) it will add a comorbidity and may give your insurance more reason to approve you since apnea is curable through weight loss. If not, you're healthy and getting good sleep. Do you have a list of things your insurance company needs to approve you? If not, I'd call and try to get one, either from the insurance company or the insurance/billing specialist at your surgeon's office. In any case, I wish you good luck! journey4me 23 Posted January 17, 2012 I believe the reason for it is to see if you have trouble breathing and to know for when you have surgery becasue you will be under general anesthesia. Good luck!
