My Stomach Is Burning

Recommended Posts

HELP! I've been experiencing major burning in my stomach lately. It's been going on a week or two and lasts for a few or more hours at a time. It's in the upper part of my stomach; I'm pretty sure it's not gas and it doesn't feel like heart burn. Often it seems like I'm hungry at the same time but this is NOT a hunger pain, it's different. Also, I have a dilated esophagus (I don't know if this is related). I've been banded for 2 years.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

My stomach burns when im hungry. I do get regular hunger pains too, but often times just a burning feeling.

I woud worry but ive been banded six years and its always done this. Im sure if anything was wrong it would have come to. Head by now.

Call your Doctor, and get a appointment so he can look at the situation.

If you can not wait ! Then go to the E.R. Where you were banded at.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
