Scale Is Stuck. -_-

Recommended Posts

So I had my band on Jan 3rd 2010. 10 days post op and Ive lost about 12 pounds. I am super excited and all that jazz.. It seems like my scale is stuck between 263 and 264 and no matter what I do It just seems to go down to 263 and the next morning im up again. I thought about throwing my scale into a blazing fire of dark abyss but I need it..lol Ive been walking and trying not to over do it with liquid.. anyone else have this problem? I really need the scale to love me again Its starting to bum me out.

anyone?

Slow down, girl. You haven't even healed yet, give yourself a chance. You're probably going through a little post op

depression, which is natural. If you lose anything during this period, it shouldn't be much. Right now you need nutrition

to heal your body, then you can start losing weight. You need to lose about 11/2 to 2 lbs a week, but take it slowly.

Follow your doctor's instructions and eat the way you were told to, take care of yourself and the weight loss will follow.

You have every thing you need, now just be patient and good luck

That scale is the devil. Don't weigh yourself everyday. Continue what you were doing and don't get discouraged although easier said than done. I had/have the same problem, although my co workers and family members tell me everyday I am losing more and more everyday. I have come to the conclusion inches are coming off. Which was advised earlier in the forum, the weight will follow the inches. I see the rainbow. I wanted to lose the weight very quickly but thought better of it, for the fear of bat wings (bye bye arms) and chitterlings thighs. Continue to exercise just don't give up and most of all be patient.

Good luck in your journey

Thank you guys for the little extra support I needed it. I wish I could stop weighing myself but the Doc told me I had to weigh and write it down everyday so he can see it. Bleh! Id rather not because on days like this its best not to know you gained a pound in one night.. lol

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
