losstwn 0 Posted January 9, 2012 My name is Pattie, I was banded Jan 19, 2011 I'm coming up on my first year baniversary, Dr. Valentine was my surgeon. I started out @ 278 and as of today I am @ 240...I don't feel like I'm losing all that much or that fast...I got sick two mos ago from the band being too tight, so Annie, Dr. Valentines assistant took 1 cc out and I felt instant relief...then in Dec, I went back in and she gave me a half cc and so far I seem to be doing ok, There have been a couple of times tho after drinking Water it came back up...so now I don't take big gulps. I still get hungry especially at night a couple of hours after I have eaten dinner...I don't eat big portions any more because I'm too afriad it will make me sick...does anyone here go that? I also found out eggs were giving me the trots or dumping syndrome...I thought by getting banded instead of the RuNY I wouldn't get the dumping syndrom, but I guess I am still learning what I can or cannot eat. I have found I can eat breads, Pasta, pizza without it getting stuck, but I chose not to eat a lot and I still do not buy bread.< /p> I was also told that I shouldn't eat stringy veggie's has anyone else in the group been told that? schell75 1 Posted January 9, 2012 I have found since you can't eat very much at one sitting I need to eat every 2-3 hrs. You can't just eat 3 meals anymore. I was also told not to eat stringy veggies, such as celery. I do eat carbs, but I eat alot less of them so I think they are fine. Everything in moderation. losstwn 0 Posted January 12, 2012 Thank you Shirley and Schell, I appreciate the replies...your right Shirley it is better then gaining, so I'm not going to get discouraged . I don't eat a lot of carbs any more, not like I use to anyways...but I still eat them...I'm thinking of trying the gluten free diet and see how that works for me.
