Jenn1214 120 Posted January 8, 2012 After months of my weight being stagnant, and my wedding quickly approaching, I did what I never expected to do...I joined a gym! My membership came with two free personal training sessions and I had my first one yesterday. The trainer did some fitness tests to see how I reacted to certain types of exercise and let's just say I did pretty pitifully. Today I'm in a nice amount of pain in my legs and abs, but I keep telling myself it can only get better from here. I plan to continue with the personal training so she can get me on the right track. She's thrilled with me already because a lot of her clients have trouble with their portions being too big and not getting enough Protein in their diets, so I'm already a step ahead that way. Now I just have to whip my poor cardiovascular system into shape!

horsegirl315 114 Posted January 8, 2012 AWESOME!! When I tell you I have tried every diet and exercise program, I mean it. I think I was the only 260 pound person that completed the Insanity workout, P90X, and even have ran 5k's without losing a ton of weight, thanks to my portion sizes...which won't be a problem soon! As a word of encouragement, stick with it! You will start to notice HUGE improvements in a very short amount of time. You will be able to go longer, stronger, harder in as little as a week, and you will only get better. I am excited to get my band on Jan 30 so I can start to see some results from all my hard work! Jess55 97 Posted January 9, 2012 Good for you! As much as I may complain when I'm sore after a good workout. I like the feeling in a way, because I know it means I pushed hard and made progress. Sometimes after my strength training sessions, I'm not sore the next day and I look back and wonder what I did wrong? But a instructor at my kickboxing place says it means I'm just well hydrated and my muscles are recovering faster.
neveragain 9 Posted January 16, 2012 Like everyone said, KEEP AT IT! You'll be in sore, but it really is "no pain, no gain"!!
bdjohns 1 Posted January 18, 2012 I joined a gym yesterday also! I have been walking on the elliptical 2 to 4 days a week, but had not been doing very much strength training, so started it full force yesterday! And man was I sore today! But it is a good sore! One that makes you feel like you accomplished something! Good luck to everyone that has started this big step in their new life!!
