Plastic Surgery After Lapband

Recommended Posts

It is often necessary to have the apron removed after massive weight loss due to the rash etc' date=' like you are experiencing now. If your doc is deeming it medically necessary to get the skin removed, there is a likely chance that your insurance will pick up most of the cost. Unfortunately the "bat wings" rarely if ever get that same stamp.

Good luck, let us know what you find out![/quote']

My friend calls them bingo wings!!! Like when old ladies play bingo and wave their arms around flapping!:)

I'm searching for a PS in the Hampton Roads' date=' VA area. Anyone know of any that have had lapband patients. Apparantely there are not alot of them out there that are familiar with band patients. I've seen 3 and neither of them have done a band patient. When I asked one of them what they would do about my port, he said "I'll just take it out" EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEekkk! I nearly ran out of his office screaming. lol HELP! I wanted to use someone familiar with the band/tubing/port, etc... Also, I'm considering having tummy and breasts done at the same time. Anyone done this?[/quote']

I'm lucky my lap band surgeon also has another office where is he is a plastic surgeon. :-) I live in Oklahoma though and that is far from you.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
