Nikki D. Gasca-Gardepe 0 Posted January 8, 2012 Has anyone been approved by their insurance even if they were not at the 35 BMI the insurance requires if their Primary Doc goes to bat for you??? I know many people out there think that being a BMI of 32 I should just lose the weight myself. I have many times and it always comes back. I can lose 30 lbs in three months on my own, I have done it befores however it is so difficult to keep it off.
lwincoA 1 Posted January 8, 2012 I realllyyyy know what you mean I am in the same situation. I do not have a high enough bmi (33) but have tried every single diet known to man and I admit I am good at losing the weight but for 30 years I have not been able to keep it off. I know I can't do this alone and the lapband will work for me but I can't afford to self pay and the insurance just doesn't seem to care. I get soooo frustrated !!!!! B-52 7,113 Posted January 8, 2012 My BMI alone was not high enough to qualify for the surgery. But if you have ANY comorbidities, then that puts you on a different scale.< /p>
