I know it's early to be thinking about things like this, considering I'm not even banded yet but I just have to ask...

Is it possible to be morbidly obese, lose your goal weight and have a rocking body?

I know plastic surgery will most likely have to be involved but I'm so worried about my arms and thighs!

Those scars are so ugly if you have plastic surgery there :/

I keep daydreaming of wearing a bikini one day LOL

But I'm thinking I'm kidding myself......

I don't really know what you are hoping for because a really rocking body is subjective. However, I have lost 54kg and despite some excess skin, I feel damn good about my body (greatly helped by my husband telling me how hot I am now.)

Omg I thought I was the only one lol... Like I have this unrealistic vision of myself in the future... Like I like my shape now... I just want smaller proportions (sp?) . I'm hoping lap band and exercise can accomplish that... I'm scared about scarring from surgery but what could be worse than. stretch marks lol.... And I don't have a husband to tell me I'm hot... I have to tell myself that like everyday lol.... I'm sure you'll be hot too

Usually plastic surgery scars barely show.

Plastic surgery is NOT an option for me. I won't be getting it...Not only do I not want to but I wouldn't be able to afford it...and I'm terrified of excess skin so I want to have slow and steady weight loss, and I will be excersising like mad...plus I'm only 24 so I hope thats gonna be on my side as well.

Check out Amy's blog. Here's a link. She lost about 150 pounds and she's got a great bikini body.

Here's the link. http://www.cheeseandsunkist.blogspot.com/

Her blog is very inspirational!

Thanks for the blog, very inspiring! That girl has done something right for sure! As far as plastic surgery goes, I don't want to be a plastic surgery ***** lol but I am ok with a body lift/tummy tuck and I love my girls so if those go I must replace them! Those scars don't bother me nor the lap band surgery scars, I've seen other's and they all seem to heal up quite nicely. (and definitely are a trade up on stretch marks IMO) I'm really worried about having bat wings and saggy thighs..and plastic surgery for those issues are more noticeable. From what I've heard the scar for a thigh lift is from your knee up! So much for wearing cute shorts! And I'd hate to have a scar up half my arm :( I'm probably over thinking this, I am only 22 and hoping my young age will help a lot of things things shrink up but I've also been overweight my ENTIRE life, so I'm wondering if this will cancel out the benefit of being so young..

I don't think you are aiming too high. I started out morbidly obese, and lost pretty fast. I hit my goal weight at 10 months post op, and since then have lowered my goal a little and am now working on toning up. I did this with no exercise and only have a little excess skin in my lower abdomen. I have started doing crunches and it is already helping, but if I get a chance to have a Tummy Tuck, I will. My doctor said that being young is a huge advantage because you have more collagen in your skin, and I'm 13 years older than you :)

I know someone that had bypass and had a body lift, can't see her scars at all...arms, legs, only on her stomach can you see it, but its very low so it doesnt show in a bikini. Good luck!!!!

I got a torsoplasty but didn't need a thigh lift or an arm lift, and I was almost 39 when I lost my weight. I had batwings for sure but my dr said they'd go in time and they did. Same with my thighs. I have some excess skin there but definitely nothing worth going under the knife for.

You just won't know how your body is going to react until after you've lost the weight. So worry about it, sure, but don't let it keep you up nights. :)

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
