readytogoforit 172 Posted January 13, 2012 It's interesting how this subject keeps going!!! when I 1st found this site, I read & read; lurking in the shadows trying to figure it all out. I trust my doc (University of Minnesota) best ever! I understand that having surgery there is always a risk. bad things do happen and I am sorry for that but, we cannot be controlled by negativity. not in any part of our life!!! we say what we think & what we have experienced, that's great but it is what WE think and experience. we are not doctors or professionals. I never took the negative comments too seriously & if i did I asked the professionals about the comment! the part I appreciate the most here is the positive reinforcement! we have to remember where we came from. I was overweight for a very long time. I didn't talk about it, I didn't ask for help, I didn't have comfort from fellow struggling people. I do now, we have not personally met but we know what it's like to be heavy. we know what it feels like to be fat and to be on the way down from fat. we cannot let some negative people have that much power. I thank every positive person on this site.

MyTurn 4 Posted January 14, 2012 I haven't read all the posts yet, but I had to put in my 2 cents. The band has NEVER taken away my hunger, or appetite. I thought it would. What it has done is make me feel full sooner thereby cutting down how much food I eat at each meal. I still get hungry when it's not time to eat. My appetite is still very strong. What I need to do is put in place a food program where I eat the right things. That's why I'm here. For help, support, and ideas on eating and getting through the rough times. I too was very hungry, for my first 2 years post-op. In fact, I lost 100% of my excess weight then, and was grateful to band my for giving me the early satiety that helped me eat less at each meal. Then I finally, from fiddling with fills & unfills, got to the point where my hunger was greatly reduced.

Thanks You can order it at jean-onthebandwagon.blogspot.com, or at Amazon.
