First Fill And Still Hungry

Recommended Posts

So I had my first fill 4 days ago and I really can't tell that I have any more restriction than I did b4. I have lost 18 lbs and I am 5 weeks post surgery...I can't help but feeling that for some reason, somehow that this isn't going to work....that I am not going to loose anymore weight.. Anyone have any advice?

I just had my 1st fill. I'm at 6cc's. I'm feeling the exact same way. Seems to be a "normal" feeling. (It's just more of lap band hell) Everyone keeps yelling at us to be patient. I say... screw 'em. Time is money! ahahaha --- We will lose the weight. We just have to be............ patient. (I'm so sick of hearing that!!) Hang in there.

I was in the same place at 5 weeks. I got a 10cc fill. Was still able to eat anything and it seemed I could have as much as I wanted- I didn't test that too far, though one time I probably ate about 1.5cups of food in one meal...on a few occassions. Then, my second fill this week, I got 0.5cc and I could tell that I was REALLY tight and nothing was probably going to go down. I had it taken back out and am going to tray something smaller in a couple of weeks. Even though my band is almost full, I still get a little hungry between meals. I'm using hot tea and will power to get me through and the scale moves down a little almost every day. And I feel a little better knowing that even though my band is almost full, a slight addition of Fluid IS going to make a difference for me.

Hang in there!! (<---just a different way to say the "p" word! 001_tongue.gif )

This is still fairly new. Even though our eating habits are forming into a lifestyle I'm treating it like a diet until I can get to my sweet spot Weight lost to me has always been A mind game; but unfortunately I could not continue with that game for more than 6 months. I would do good for 6 months usually in the winter months then it would take me 6 months to gain the weight back and then some. My challenges are not now but will start around May and hopefully I will be at my sweet spot by then. Let's support each other so we can make it through these times where it is requiring willpower to maintain.

It could take many fills for you to notice a difference. Unfortunately it takes time for some people, it doesn't always happen with the first, second or third fill.

So r u able to eat only ur measuring cup fill or can u eat more than that?

I don't know if I am able to eat a cup full or not; I usually stop my self. I hate to throw up/ and or have productive burps (PB) so I just eat enough to curve my appetite and then I stop- sometimes a little more. Lapband doctors tell us to eat 3 meals a day, but throughout my research, I have always learned to eat at least 5 small meals per day; thus that is what I attempt to do not to exceed 1200 calories. The key to weight loss is to increase your metabolism; so I eat something for Breakfast (a protein) but usually I am not hungry. My band appears to be wide open at night so now I am working on controlling my appetite at night by eating a lot of Protein so I will not be as hungry when I want to snack.< /p>

It took me 6 months of fills to get restriction. I recommend buying a good digital food scale (walmart or target is fine). Measure you solid Protein and when it's gone no seconds.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
