Gizmo29 0 Posted January 6, 2012 Hi everyone again so I got my first fill last week and it took some time but since Sunday I have been able to eat only a little. I am scheduled in another 2 weeks for another fill but I am scared then I really won't be abke to eat anything. It's weird cuz I read so much that u don't even feel Any restriction till the third or fourth fill and I am so full on my first fill. Also I seem to not be bake to keep down any chicken or meat I throw it back up? Is this normal? Does anyone else have this?
carymom 4 Posted January 6, 2012 No, it is not normal to do that, and I felt restriction after the first fill, so everyone is different. You need to let your doctor know. Don't play with your health. The doctor may need to take out just a little bit of the fill, but please let them know what is happening.
sandi67 0 Posted January 6, 2012 talk to your doctor about this - he/she won't fill the band anymore as long as you have good restriction. I'm not able to eat a lot of meat myself - some chicken - steak is a no-no, but fish is always good as long as it's cooked right. Everyone is different for when they feel restriction - I was fine for a while, but now need another fill because I've hit another plateau and I'm 2 years out from surgery. You may feel that at different times of the day, food may pass through easier.
xavier 153 Posted January 6, 2012 As long as you are getting enough fluids and nutrients (protein but maybe mushy, not meat) you are fine and will probably lose weight easily. You do not need to be eating chunks of meat for now and once you lose a few pounds it will probably loosen up. I had good restriction and then lost it and had to get filled twice as I lost weight and fat is lost under the band.
kll724 3,055 Posted January 6, 2012 Be glad to have restriction so quickly! Make sure that the meat you are eating is very fine. Stay away from dry meats. I eat a lt of fish, and if I eat chicken it is not dry breast meat. Beef and pork are hard to chew up. Take care, and good luck. Karen
