kll724 3,055 Posted January 5, 2012 I would venture to say, probably not a slip. However, if you are worried, see you surgeon. Karen
54Shirley 105 Posted January 5, 2012 Were you a little to tight from a fill, or did you have a cough like from a cold ? Chances are it is not a slip, but you can always call your Dr. and describe the issue. He can tell you his opinion.
ggoetz 0 Posted January 5, 2012 If you can eat at all it's ok. I had my band slip about 4 years ago and they had to go in and fix the band. It's if you cannot even keep Water down that there's a major issue.
Jean McMillan 2,973 Posted January 5, 2012 Yes, your band could have slipped from the bad cough, but just being sick (especially with head and chest congestion) can cause similar symptoms. My band slipped (probably due to my untreated hiatal hernia) and the symptoms were constant chest pain (so bad I thought it was a heart attack), inability to even drink Clear Liquids, reflux and a sore throat from the reflux. A complete unfill and 6-week rest period fixed it. I know of other bandsters with band slips whose slippage symptoms were intermittent rather than continuous like mine. You might want to call your surgeon's office and tell them what's been going on, just for your peace of mind. If necessary, your surgeon can do an upper GI study to make sure everything's in the right place. Good luck! Jean
