Alexandra 55 Posted February 16, 2006 I eat salad now with no problems, but I was afraid to start for a while. I don't remember when I first realized that it really didn't give me any problems at all. I'd say go ahead and try it whenever (assuming you're back on real food) and just be cautious after fills. Some people do seem to have trouble with lettuce and other raw vegetables.

Jachut 487 Posted February 16, 2006 I started off in the mushy phase, with peeled cucumber and Tomato. After about 6 weeks post op I tried a proper tossed salad and it was fine.

GlamorousLife 0 Posted February 16, 2006 I don't know if this is good or bad....but I can eat everything. I was banded in December 2005 and I have lost 15 pounds thus far. The key is to chew...chew..chew. I eat salads all the time (with meat at that). I just eat a small bowl. Good luck!!:hungry:
Jammin & Losin 1 Posted February 16, 2006 I can eat salad ..but I must eat it slowly!!!! I think I end up eating more of the chicken on it than anything else!!! But I love salad!!!
RayLandry 18 Posted February 16, 2006 I was banded six months ago, and I can still eat ANYTHING! Just not as much of it!
Iluvharleys 15 Posted February 16, 2006 I started eating salad at 4 weeks out, I don't have any problem with it at all.
PamRN 0 Posted February 16, 2006 I couldn't eat salad at first, it took a few months before I could get it down. Then I found that if I have crunchy in it, like croutons or crackers, for some reason it goes down better. I love all kinds of cheeses too, especially feta and blue. Just go slow and chew well, making sure your lettuce is particularly well chewed.

Teresa A 0 Posted February 16, 2006 I can eat salad - since about six weeks post-op. I can eat almost anything as long as I chew it really well. It doesn't take much of anything to fill me up, though.
