blondeblueeyes 3 Posted January 3, 2012 Had banding on the 29th, lots of gas, pain, burping which has gotten much better but now today I have sharp pains in the lower right hand side of my stomach. I do not have nausea, vomiting, fever, etc but I'm wondering if its gas, consipation or period coming on. Still drinking my liquids but this has got to quit! Don't think its a appendix problem, at least I hope not.
motivatedlap 8 Posted January 4, 2012 Is the pain near your biggest incision? Maybe it's where your port is? Mine is on the lower left side, but every surgeon seems to put them in slightly different spots.
Cocoabean 430 Posted January 4, 2012 Appendix will hurt half way between your belly button and hip bone. Also, with an appendix the pain will intensify when you release the area after pressing on it. If something feels very wrong, it probably is, call your surgeon, that is what we pay them for.
tym4me 206 Posted January 4, 2012 Last bowel movement was? Period? Ovulation? (i get that pain) Port site? Drinking enough fluids? Just trying to jog your memory
blondeblueeyes 3 Posted January 4, 2012 Stomach still has some sharp pains but doesn't seem as intense as yesterday.I self ruled out a appendix problem based on some of the issues that I did not have. Went down to Walgreens last night & picked up Gas-X , milk of Magnesium, and a light stool softner. I'm sure I am full of gas & need to expel any which way I can! Thank you all for your answers to this issue that still is pending alitte bit. Need more Water I think too.
blondeblueeyes 3 Posted January 5, 2012 Okay first time was Monday night when walking the basset hounds, hurt all day tuesday. Walked with them again Wednesday night & this morning went to the dr. after being awake with stabbing pains all night long. Had read about Chronic Appendix that doesn't show system & husband/I were freaking out! Dr. states that % of patients have pain from the cut & it will take awhile for it to heal. So no appendix nor Constipation as we thought but a real stabbing pain from the surgery. Other sites don' t hurt so this one has me really puzzled. Hope there is no infection, etc in my bowels, etc. So hubby will have to walk all 3 hounds while I walk beside him. That will be a sight to see!
Cocoabean 430 Posted January 7, 2012 Am wondering if they cut a larger nerve in the incision than normally happens, due to some anomaly in your anatomy or something...? Total guess on my part, I have no medical background. Hopefully it will calm down as you heal.
