Recommended Posts

I was banded 10/07/11 i have lost 20 pounds and i have had 2 fills yet i still feel no restriction. I go in on monday for another fill i think im gonna ask for 2cc more that will give me a total of 5cc in my 10cc band. Hows everyone else doing on their losses? An fills.

Hi Brandi,

I was banded 10/31/11 and have lost 25 lbs so far. I have 2.25cc in my 10cc band and have had 3 adjustments. Remember it’s slow and steady that wins this race.

I should also mention I’ve had 3 visits with my doctor’s personal trainer and have been exercising more than I ever have before. Of course I mean I’m exercising now, when I NEVER did before.

I also have a very healthy fear of messing up my inners, so I try my best to keep to the 4oz. portion size for each meal. I don’t think the 4 oz. portion fills me up but I do start to feel uncomfortable if I go over it. So I thinks that’s my version of “restriction”.

Hi yes me too, I have been walking more than ever I feel good about it I can walk 3miles now without any real problems. I still get winded though going up the steep hill. ;)

An you have a good point I do need to work on measuring out my servings I eye ball them. Actually I want to take someones elses idea an buy a dessert plate to use for myself to help remind me. I am also historically a grazer I have been working really hard on that one, but since we are not supposed to chew gum this is a challenge for me.

but i love checking in on the boards and talking to people who are going through this too, no one i know is so I really dont share with them what its like.

thanks

Wow! It's been a while since anyone posted! I was banded 10/07/11 and am down 71lbs. After my last fill on 07/03/11 I lost 8lbs in one week and have been stuck there ever since! I have had 5 fills and am at 7cc's in my 10cc band. I don't eat very much at all. I think it's what I am choosing to eat lately. A lot of personal life stuff going on makes it harder, but I am pushing on! How is everyone else doing??

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
