I really believe that I have a pulled abdominal muscle, but was wondering if anyone else has had a burning pain in the abdominal muscle near the belly button. I am not sore around my incision sites anymore, but when I rub across my abdomen it is sore all along the lower left side from the navel over, almost like a deep, deep bruise. If I move a certain way then I get a stinging, burning pain right at my navel. If I put pressure on it, it stops. Anyway, I see my doctor on 1-9-12, but I was hoping someone could either concur with what I think it is or offer another explanation.

Thanks,

Jen

Hey Jen-

I was banded on the 29th & last night had HUGE pressure and pain but on the lower right hand side, really hoping that its not a appendisis for that calls for surgery. Have you googled where the pain is at or left a message for your doctor? I'm not wanting to be a worry wart but it was surgery. Keep us informed & good luck.

Sorry I didn't write sooner but the CT showed nothing .... I have to say the pain has gotten better even I think moved? I still have it when I bend down or sneeze. Its bad. I also cannot sleep on my sides or my stomach. I tried on my left side and OMG almost died, it hurt so bad. Sudden sharp pain, I had to jump on my back soo friggan fast. I WISH I could find someone who can tell me whats going on?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
