Sounds like gas pains settling in your chest. walking helps the most.

Rachel I was banded 12/29. I am still a little sore and the gas set in last night. Try some Milk of Mag and walk walk walk. It really helped a lot. I got up this morning gas free.

I was also banded 12/29. Its been good until this morning, then the chest pain that your referring to appeared out of nowhere. I have taken my dogs for several walks and chewed 1 gas x ....... a lot better now.

Good luck

Sounds normal to me. You had a hernia repair also, so this adds to the swelling etc. I took GasX chewables, and tried to walk as much as possible. Take your pain meds and rest also!!!

Completely normal. You had surgery a couple of days ago. Even though people play it down, it is still a trauma on the body. The hernia repair adds to the recovery time.

Heating pads were my best friend. Walk, walk, walk, as much as your energy level allows. I did laps up and down my little hallway.

Don't let the pain get ahead of you. Stay on top of it with pain meds. Take them when pain level gets to a 3.

Every person reacts differently to the surgery and the anesthesia. After general anesthesia I feel like I have been hit by a truck for a couple of days. A friend of mine came out of surgery (not lap band), and went to costco on the way home.

But, remember, if something feels very wrong, call your surgeon's office. We pay them great gobs of money to take care of us. So don't be afraid to check in.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
