I have also been bumped off the thread several times on my iPhone, but my computer says I am subscribed & the iPhone says I'm not. I guess we will just have to wait for an update!! I am so jealous of those who have iPads!! I want one so bad! I am entering in a raffle this summer so maybe I'll win one!!

Oh I almost forgot you guys totally saved me from buying a piece of chocolate cream pie. I was waiting at the deli for my order, which of course is right next to the bakery!! I saw they had a slice of my favorite pie so I grabbed my phone and read a few entries and didn't get the pie!! Thank you ladies! January Bandsters to the rescue!!!

Hi everyone- had a pretty good weekend. I've just decided that Sunday night I'm going to have a gigantic bowl of ice cream. That will have to go away at some point, but I'm just not ready to give it up yet. Though Amica and Chrissy have some good alternatives- I'm just not ready, LOL. I'm still losing weight steadily, but when I plateau I will have to reassess. I'm only going to do it on Sunday night- it will be my cheat.

Nicole- I am annoyed that my doctor has not told me how much he's put in my last 2 fills. I'm seeing the PA this next time and she'll probably tell me. I doubt I'll get much of a fill, I don't think I need it. I wish your doctor was more aggressive, but you'll still get there!!! I too looked forward to a pb, just so I knew it was there and working- but it's really not too fun, LOL.

Amica- that ice cream sounds good. I think you might be too tight- that heartburn and not being able to keep things down- don't be a hero, being too tight is not good.

Meredith- you can always get more put in if needed. 3 cc's really isn't a lot- but better than being too tight.

Well, I got up and did The Firm- 50 minutes of cardio and weights. It's pretty intense! But it's done, LOL. Feels good. Everyone have a great day!!

Nicole1, my husband said the same thing but amazingly did the trick.Although, I fear I might be able to eat more then I should be. This weekend wasn't a great time to 'test' out the band since we we're off our routine.

Food shopping today and getting back on track will be the test for me, mentally& physically as well. I have stopped posting on MFP and Fitbit the past few weeks which isn't like me as well as not working out. I think I need to get my ass in gear before it starts to get big again!!! LOL

Getting bored eating the same ol' same ol' foods and running out to Barnes & Noble to get a cookbook for 'banders" today and start thinking out of the box and find some healthy recipes with great garden fresh foods, herbs & spices. They don't call the NJ state the Garden state for nothing!

I had a mini reunion the other night. The town nearby where I grew up had a major fire and 51 families are without homes {apartment complex}. They were asking for donations of all kinds. Both my DH & I went through our closets and donated 3 huge hefty garbage bags of 'big'clothes to the township. I finally got him to get rid of all his big shirts he still wears since losing 30lbs after lapband surgery in March. It was a win-win for all! God bless them.

Late last night I found myself falling back into old habits. I was going through all of the cabinets looking for "something" good. Taking a bite of this and a bite of that never feeling satisfied. I finally gave up and went to bed. I was thinking about that damn pie the amount of calories I just grazed over and wasn't satisfied with I could have eaten the pie slice!! I really do not like the emotional feelings and resurfacing old habits. I feel like I am still in that slump and don't know what to do to get out of it. I am good on Water and I am still working out at least 3 days a week.

I tell myself "one cookie today will not hurt anything" ignoring the voice in the back of my mind that is telling me I have told myself the same thing every day this week, so those 7 Cookies have hurt me. I'm not gaining but I am definitely not loosing. I just really really need to get out of this slump!!!

Nicole- are you using myfitnesspal? It is motivating to me to see what I'm consuming vs burning in calories. Can you up your exercise? Maybe up the time, or up the intensity, or change the activity. And not to be an enabler, but 1 cookie a day for a week- even if it's every week- won't hurt you but 7 Cookies a day every day for a week will! Just count it in your calories.

You're doing great! It's hard, it's still changing habits and mindsets, even with this awesome tool. Start an exercise journal, post here whatever you do so we can hold you accountable, whatever you need!!! Just keep moving forward, it's a marathon NOT a sprint!! You're not gaining, which imvho is a victory! Now just some small changes will have you start losing!!!!

Nicole1...I did the same thing! Fortunately, I didn't go too far off track. I agree with JDI about the Cookies. I had 1 each day since Thursday or Friday. I love really good chocolate chip ones. I found some at Walgreen's for $1 a pack. They are good sized and there's about 10 in the pack...so WAY too easy to justify buying them. I tell myself that I'm getting them for my hubby and son. I've managed to do okay...and I count them in my daily allowances...so don't beat yourself up over them. This journey is not about denying ourselves things we like. Its about learning to manage what we DO eat.

My loss is slowing as well. I think its because my cardio has been lowered so much the past few weeks. I "froze" my gym membership to save some money for a couple of months until DH's hours pick back up. So, I've been walking (or biking) around my neighborhood the past few weeks. I know I haven't kept the same pace as I would on the treadmill, but at the same time, its harder for me to jog on "the road" than it is to jog on a treadmill. I think its because the belt on the treadmill keeps me moving. LOL. And I miss the weight machines! I guess I'm just going to have to determine to myself that I have to kick it up a notch!

I am having a hard time holding myself accountable. Days I know I am going to be over I don't even bother with myfitnesspal. It's like I don't want to see how bad it really is. On the days I eat well I have logged everything.

As for my workouts when I go to my 2 day a week training I work really hard. When I workout at home I have to push myself to do the full 40 min workout and even then I do not do a very intense level. I am just not motivated. I have an appointment with my counselor next week maybe she can help. Also I am thinking of joining a real gym that u can go to anytime instead of the personal trainer thing. I will go do that today!! Goal for today is log food and find new gym!!

I promised myself when I decided to do lapband that I would be honest with myself. That means logging my really big bowl of ice cream, which I do. So be honest with yourself, you're worth it! Motivation ebbs and flows, you'll get back in the groove.

Okay I am stuck at 220 . I guess it is back to charting everything I eat again and what I am drinking also. I thought I had a grip on this but now I realizes I do not. So back to the basics. I do not and never have ate alot when it is hot out. I am sure not getting enough in me could have my body in starvation mode. So a slap upside my head and strat again. Will have to figure out how to chart my intake on the fitness page and get with it. My July goal is 6 pounds and so far ZERO so have to regroup.

Hi everyone! Nicole, I have not tried curves.

Kymie- oh, I will have to figure out mine when I get to a calculator!!! That's a good way to look at things. Good for you, btw!!!

Otaknam- So it's a little plateau. Go "back to basics" and you'll get is started again. You've lost a lot of weight, so these happen occasionally. THink of it as a way to re-motivate yourself!!!

I forgot to post yesterday that on Saturday I went to the goodwill and bought new pants! 3 in a size 20 (down from a 24/26) and a skirt and another pair of pants in a size 18 that allllmost fit. I also bought a pair of pants that don't fit but I can at least get up over my butt, just my fat tummy doesn't fit, but they're banana republic pants, really nice, for $3.49, so I figured I'll be fitting into them soon :). It's nice to buy things slightly smaller and know I will actually lose the weight to be able to fit into them. Hopefully I'll get into my smaller stuff in my closet-though I think the smallest thing I have is a size 14 pair of jeans I bought ages ago that I never did fit into- they were a "when I lose weight" purchase- that hopefully I will wear! Most of my stuff is size 18 or so- actually, I'll have to go look. I know I do have some size 10's put away from high school in the 80's (don't judge) that I would love to wear again- or at least fit into, even if I don't wear them out of the house!!! LOL. Last time I lost a lot of weight was in 2004 when I got down to the mid 180's. I can see that coming for me now, and I am so excited to get that far down (that would be down 100 lbs) and then go down even more!!!

Yay us!! We'll have some bumps, but that's life. We're in it for the long haul!!!

Ok so it is a new day with a new start. I weigh .5lbs less and I'll take it! I am scheduled for a circuit class tonight and I logged in my food for the day. We are going on a field trip to McDonalds so I packed my lunch and Snacks and logged them. I also took out my cash from my wallet so I won't be tempted. I want to wear a size 14 by the time the school year starts so that is my motivation. I am going to do what Niki did and get some pants for my goal!! Macy's here I come!! Maybe a cute shirt too. Then I'll hang the outfit where I can see it every day!

Also I have signed up for a free week at Curves starting tomorrow!! Then I am going to do a free week at 24 hr fitness. Them decide which is better for me. I'm kind of thinking the big gym is too intimidating for me still but I'll give it a try it's free!

Niki I am so glad to hear you had fun shopping. That is definitely a way to get yourself excited and motivated. The difference between now and BLS is we would get discouraged when clothes didn't fit. now we get excited because they will fit within a month or two!!

Hi Ladies! Just got back from a beach trip to Hilton Head and I'm leaving for another 11 day vacation starting Thursday. Lucky me - two vacations, back to back. Great for the mind, but bad for my body. I went with a couple of friends and we were all in vacation "eat whatever we want" mode. So I gained a few pounds over the weekend. I'm back on track today, however I will be vacationing and eating out for 11 days straight, I know I will gain a few more pounds. I am such a slow loser, but a fast gainer. Does not seem fair! Anyway, MY birthday goal, which is only 9 days away, is to drop the extra few pounds I gained over the weekend and not gain anymore on the next vacation, and hopefully drop 2 more pounds (total of 4 pounds in 9 days???). I want to get down to 213 and I am at 217 today. Maybe it's liquids for me for a few days to kick start a loss. Anyway, I will check in to see how everyone is doing with my birthday goal. Let's hope the birthday girl meets her goal. Oh, almost forgot my NSV ....... I really liked one of the vacation pictures taken of me, so I posted on Facebook and received LOTS of awesome comments and likes. Made this soon to be 49 year old grandmother of two feel wonderful. Can't wait till I gt to goal and start posting some full body shots!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
