I know that Beans do have carbs, but I say "All carbs are not created equal". The bad carbs are the sugars and white breads. Beans are loaded with Protein and Fiber. I do watch how many I eat because I love them so I tend to want to eat too many. But I will say I eat them quite often and my weight is dropping at a good rate, so I say go for it. They are good for you, just watch the quantity.

Totally agree that they are good for you. I am vegetarian so Beans count for much of my Protein. I love black beans so I measure them on order to prevent eating too much of them.

Beans are probably the cheapest most nutritious food available...I eat them every day. I'm no chef so I soak the night before and then put them in the crock put with whatever else I have!

I will eat Beans daily but I'v not used a crock pot in years- maybe I should get one as beef or chicken stew be good too all soft and tender.

I use calorie king, com for calorie, carb. fat & sodium info. black Beans have 20 grams of carbs per 1/2 cup.

meat will give you your best Protein numbers without carbs.

Beans not only have a lot of Protein but they are very filling and have lots of Fiber. We were encouraged to eat them a lot.
