sandybraman 18 Posted January 3, 2012 Hey blonde - I'm sorry you feel bad, but it's good to see that I'm not the only one having problems. I cried this afternoon and told my husband that I feel like a wimp; he reminded me that even though it was laparoscopic, it was still major surgery. So we heal at a different rate - so what? The worst is behind us a d I've got your back.
Msfotobug 3 Posted January 3, 2012 Dear blondeblueeyes - I know exactly how you feel. I believe I'm way too tight also. My son says I should leave things alone because the weight is pouring off, however even the nurse said I was very dehydrated (reason I'm having this killer headaches like behind my left eye) I"m getting about 4-6 oz. of Water down on a good day and about 2 tablespoons of food. After that, if I try anything else I'm vomiting it back up. 1 haapae1976 reacted to this

sandybraman 18 Posted January 3, 2012 Ok - today is day 4 and I actually feel close to normal. I've lost 8 lbs and the only problem I'm having is when I put Protein powder into my Protein shakes - backing off of that for awhile! I've been wondering all along how I'm going to know when I'm full - this morning I ate 2 oz of applesauce and I was a little TOO full. Going to have to learn how to read my body again and remember now to eat so fast. Its hard to do when you aren't chewing anything! Would I do this again, if I knew what the last 3 days were going to be like? HELL YES - just losing 8 lbs is incentive. WE CAN DO THIS!!!!

graceful3223 1 Posted January 3, 2012 I was banded on Dec 14,2011. After surgery was extremely nauseous. 2 days after surgery had to go back to the Dr. They said when they put the band in they also do a fill to test the band. So when they take the Fluid back out they didn't take it all. So at the Dr.'s ofc they removed 2 cc's of fluid. Went home and was still sick for 2 days. But now feeling much better. Since the beginning of my pre-op diet I have lost 25lbs. Starting to get hungry more often. First fill not till Jan 13th. My Dr's ofc said no exercising until the first fill. Has anybody else been told to wait on excercise...
bluetigereyes 95 Posted January 3, 2012 I was banded on 12/22. I lost 24 lbs before surgery, but since surgery have only lost 1 lb. I am on 'mushy' foods and doing extremely well. The whole process went extremely smooth for me and I have to say that I feel amazing (almost like I never had it done!) I have been worried that I'm not losing, but seeing all the other posts and many people are not losing before the first fill is reassuring. I go to the dr. tomorrow for a post-op check, but not for a fill. I am going to talk to him about scheduling my first fill and seeing if I can get some restriction to see the weight come off. I tend to be on the inpatient side, but I know that I have to learn to be more patient, and this is a great test for that haha. I took my 'before' pictures the morning of surgery and I cant wait to look at those pictures next Christmas and see the amazing changes that will be coming. Msfotobug 3 Posted January 3, 2012 GREAT NEWS! I was banded Dec. 14th and have been having problems not getting in enough Water (only 4-6oz a day) Went to doctor office today and they took ALL of my saline out Said I had 5 1/2 CC's in. Had me drink out of a dixie cup of water, said it should only take me 1 minute. Took the first sip, by on the 2nd sip my chest tighten up and that pressure came behind my left eye socket again. You could even hear the water trying to go through the lap band out loud. She said wow, you must be very very swollen. So she had me get children's liquid Advil to help w/ the swelling and wants to see how much water I can get in tonight and call them in the morning. The past hour, I got in 1 8oz of propell water and 1 8oz of V8 juice, Yeahhhhh! (I can see the light at the end of this dark tunnel) I'm still having pain in left shoulder/neck but that headache pressure hasn't bothered me since being at the doctor's office. She said maybe I had more swelling since they did repair 2 hernia's on top of me having lap band surgery.

haapae1976 1 Posted January 4, 2012 Yes call dr asap. My dr and nutritionist say 62 oz of Water. If you are throwing up that can cause the band to slip.
haapae1976 1 Posted January 4, 2012 It is weird I see some banders have fills right away. I was told they don't do fills until wk 6. I had my surgery on dec 7 , I am getting y 1st fill on Jan 11. I am looking forward to it.
Msfotobug 3 Posted January 4, 2012 Well it's 4:24am. nausea and pressure headache woke me up again. Do you think it's because maybe I'm still really dehydrated even though I was now able to get in 32oz of fluids last night before bed? I'm starting to worry now, though I know fear is nothing but of the devil I just pray they'll call my doctor in and hopefully he can explain what really is going on. I just read above that vomiting can cause the band to slip. I do not want to have any surgery all over again. I'm really scared now.
