Thee-O 15 Posted December 29, 2011 Damn Plateau. Well the good news is I haven’t gained any weight over the holidays. WOOT! But the bad news is I haven’t lost any weight in about 5-6 weeks. Still sticking with my regular workouts and jogging. I am not really worried about it, I know this happens to everyone. It is the body just getting used to the routine so I need to shake things up a bit in order to get past this. I am under my calorie goals every day on MyFitnessPal and I burn about 1000 calories a day with exercise, so eventually I should go back to the shedding the pounds, but the one thing I do notice is my endurance for cardio is way up and I lost a few more inches. Just got to keep pushing. I lost 55 lbs in 2011. Hoping to lose 45-55 more in 2012. Plateaus can be discouraging…but you have to realize it is the body adjusting. shakey88 37 Posted December 30, 2011 I am experiencing the same thing now myself. It is frustrating, but I know it is all part of the process. I so wanted to be down 100 pounds in 30 weeks, but with there only being 2 weeks left, I don't see me shedding the 8 more pounds. I am lucky to lose a pound a week these days! Kimmypoo38 5 Posted December 30, 2011 Funny how things happen. We were both banded in the same month and I am stuck at 54lbs. I have not lost weight since the end of October and its so frustrating. I am more interested in increasing my exercise and fitness than increasing the restriction to be honest. I have this thing in me for life. Plenty of time for fills if you ask me. Humming Bird 275 Posted December 30, 2011 That's true and you are doing well We just have 2 different styles. I did zero "work". I got a couple fills and 100 pounds melted off in 1 year. JimR915 21 Posted December 30, 2011 I plateaud at 55 lbs as well. That was before the holidays. I was really bumbed, because that's where I ALWAYS plateau, even before the band. In the past, I would finally get discouraged and start eating again. But I've lost another 10 lbs over the last few weeks, so I'm feeling good again. I am still going for a very small fill next week to perhaps get a bit more consitency of restriction. I am aware of the fact, however, that perfection can be the enemy of the very good, so I don't want to overdo it. Sounds like you are doing awesome! Keep in mind, too, that the exercise could be building muscle, leading to no weight loss, but lost inches, as you pointed out. Best of luck! Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
