Health Net Blue & Gold ***

Recommended Posts

I was researching what was covered with my insurance and it states that Gastric surgery is indeed covered (YAY). Only thing is I know that *** likes to give people a hard time authorizing such surgeries. Does anyone else live in the LA/OC area in SOCAL that has healthnet and had success? I don't see my doctor until next month and I am afraid he is going to give me a hard time.

i have healthnet h m o and i live in so cal, I saw my primary care doctor in July so about 5 months ago, I had to obviously meet the criteria, then i was referred to a dietitian which was a quick appointment to get history of family and weight loss, next i went to a psych appointment, then surgeon orientation. My surgeon had a few of his own requirements which i finally met all of those as of last night! So my insurance request was sent in today. So far there wasn't any problems with insurance referring to each step. I was also told by the insurance coordinator at my surgeon office that healthnet is nice to work with because they are aware at this point that i am trying to have weight loss surgery because I have followed they're necessary steps to get here. Good luck with your journey.

how did it go with Health Net Blue Gold? I currently have them as well and the surgeon that I was told I would be referred to stated that Health Net would not use her so i'm trying to find out who I would see I guess. Wondering how good this insurance is.....you didn't have any problems? i live near Sacramento

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
