Just wondering if all the people who can't eat chicken are only eating drier white meat as opposed to juicer dark meat.< /p>

I can eat steak, as long as the pieces are tiny..as in about the size of a pencil eraser. I do that to avoid swallowing a piece with some gristle that I didn't see. But, if eating steak and I cannot chew it to the consistency of applesauce before swallowing, I've been known to spit it into a napkin to avoid getting stuck.

Denise, I do the same thing! LOL if I can't chew it enough, I spit it out.

I have a LOT of trouble with chicken, doesn't matter how it's cooked. Roast beef is another "sticker" for me. I haven't tried pork chops yet, but I know they are dry and I'll probably have trouble with them.

I tried popcorn a couple times, but not the entire kernel. If I can't chew it to liquid, I don't eat it.

I was banded 1 year ago today, on Dec 30, 2010. No looking back...I'm loving being thin!

I had my second fill and again have no restrictions. I can pretty much eat what I want as far as quantity goes. I could probably eat all the wrong foods that got me here in the first place. I am too scared to throw up, so I do a trial and error home first before going out with friends and family. My mom looks at me in amazement that I can still eat so much. I just chew it to smithereens.

Shap, I can eat dark meat chicken with no trouble.

Chris, roast beef is hard for me as well. Even if cut to tiny tiny pieces! We had it for Christmas Eve dinner and leftovers. Surprisingly, I can eat the thin cut type of pork chops. They take a lot of chewing work, but I haven't been stuck on them yet. I sometimes get bored with all the chewing, though. I haven't gotten stuck on popcorn yet, but I don't eat it often.

I have problems with foods that I take bites of versus those that I cut up and eat with a fork. So things like sushi, salad rolls and hotdogs are a problem. My bites are too big!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
