Is Food Stuck In My Lap Band?

Recommended Posts

I am exactly 1 week post op. I have been mOstly good with liquids, buts st nite I ate watermelon, I think it's stuck? I feel ok, just full...... I think I'm actually unsure???

Would I knw if the food was stuck? Is it painful? Would I knw for sure?

I kinda feel like there's fullness in my neck.

BTW I'm so glad I found this forum, so comforting to knw I'm not the only one with crazy food thoughts :)

Also does anyone have thoughts on scrambled eggs start of 2nd wk?

Unless you ate the whole thing, you're unlikely to be stuck. It's a little early for foods like that, but you knew it was too

soon, but thought you'd try anyway. You probably irritated your stoma. I hope you were given a list of foods, and when

you could eat them. Your stomach is still healing and you need to give it a chance. You need to go back on liquids for

a day or two to see if that full feeling goes away. From there on, follow your dietitians instructions.

Ditto !

Your job is to heal ! So don't start putting things to chew in your mouth, when it should be liquids.< /p>

Once you heal. Sure scrambled eggs Mashed Potatoes, Hearty Soups, even Chili...

but give it a chance first.

MERRY CHRISTMAS !

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
