4cc Lap Band And First Fill...............

Recommended Posts

Are you sure you have a 4cc band? The last 4cc band was discontinued in 2002 and was only available in Europe.

LapBand has 10 and 14cc bands, and Realize has 9 and 11cc bands. This is from their web sites. You may have one

of these bands with 4ccs in it. Some surgeons give a minor fill when they install them. You'll have to check with your

doctor at your next appointment.

Hi there:

I have a 4 cc band too. My doctor put .6 of a cc in the band when I had the surgery, and now I am up to 2 cc's. I feel I may need another fill because I am not losing. I have lost a total of 15 pounds so far. I hope that helps and keep in touch, because a person with a 4 cc band is a rare thing.

No thats not correct. I have one, banded 2005 in Australia and when i joined this board back then its what everyone had or was getting, so there's a fair few of us around with them (and way fewer posts about taking six months to get restriction too).

I had 1cc for my first fill. I unfilled for another surgery last year and in refilling this year ive gone 1.5, 1, 0.5, 0.5. 0.2, 0.1

I stand corrected, the 4cc band is still being used outside the US. A few of the Mexican clinics are still using it,

but I can't find anywhere else it's still in use.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
