Going To Disneyland And Worried About What To Eat..any Suggestions?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am one day away from 5 weeks into my lap band journey. My family is going to Disneyland tomorrow and I'm worried about what to eat while we are there. Just wondering if any of you have suggestions for me. I'm still a little afraid to eat anything that's not too mushy. I thought about bringing some Protein powder and making a shake, but I still would like to eat with my family. I would appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks a lot!

Sue

Hi,

Disneyland has plenty of places to eat and not just there in the park. (if you mean actual disneyland in California) you can leave the park and go to downtown disney and there are even more places that you should be able to find a place easy enough to accommodate. California is big on healthy so I'm sure you will be just fine :)

I went there a couple of years ago and remember there being fruit and some different Soups that would be fine.

I went on vacation at about that same time in my journey. I took my Protein Powder with mini blender and shaker, tuna pouches, and milk and greek yogurt in a cooler. This was a huge help to me. My family was great ro eat at seafood places at night so I could have my fish. The guys even went deep sea fishing one day and we had the fresh fish that night! It was great!

They have the best clam chowder and chili in bread bowls out side of Splash Mountain. If you skip the bread, you shoule be ok. I too went to DLand last yr and had no problem finding food - but I was already a yr out and can eat almost anything.

Good luck!

Marci

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
